Cape Canaveral volunteers help at Hope Village

A group for Cape Canaveral Air Station volunteered to do painting at Hope Village, a permanent supportive housing site in Melbourne. They were able to spruce up a residence that has special needs kids. It was great to have so many hands to be able to get the painting done while the kids were in the day programs. It is less disruptive for them.

The home looks so brighter and fresh.

They also water sealed the picnic tables and swing set. We are so glad they came to help out.Swingset work

Thanks for volunteering!

Church youth help at Hope Village

A group of youth from Trinity Wellsprings Church in Indialantic help this weekend at Hope Village. They cleaned a home for a new client, painted porch ceilings and replanted and weeded the flower beds. Effort like this really helps make a house a home. We are grateful to the church for helping us in this effort.

Hope Hammock – New Homes in Titusville

Hope Hammock Phase 1

Phase 1 - Coming Soon!

Community of Hope is on the verge of awarding a contract to build a project in Titusville, lovingly named Hope Hammock.  Phase 1 will be made up of four units: a 2 bedroom/ 1 Bath ADA accessible home and three 3 bedroom/ 1 bath family homes.

We are excited about being able to provide more housing units to help homelessness families in Brevard County on their journeys forward. Next year, we plan to start Phase 2 and the remaining six homes, for a total of ten completely new family units.

Food boxes for our families

Helping families in need is a community effort.  That is why "Community" is part of our name.  The New Shiloh Christian Center is working in Melbourne to give out USDA food boxes to the needy in our area.

Community of Hope was grateful to be able to take advantage of this.  On April 13th we distributed 50 boxes of food to needy families in Melbourne and Palm Bay.  Most of them went to families in our programs.  There were a few we gave to neighbors who we knew were in need.

What is a USDA food box? It is part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.  The boxes are supplied by government contractors.  They contain fresh produce, dairy (like a gallon of milk, block of cheese, sour cream, ect.) and cooked chicken or pork. They are produced locally, package, and delivered to a food bank like the one at New Shiloh Christian Center.

Holes for Hope Golf Scramble

It was a beautiful day for golfing. Community of Hope held there first Golf Scramble at The Habitat on Saturday, April 10, 2021. We had a wonderful group of players. The Four Dummies was the 1st place team. Prizes were given for men's and women's longest drive and closest to the pin. Lunch was bar-B-Que with coleslaw.

Thank you to every one who made this event a success. Plan to golf with us next year on May 14th, 2022

Following A Path of Hope

“Through the struggle, I saw times that were very dark and I couldn’t even see myself in what lied ahead the next day, but my I knew my kids deserved more, and that is where Community of Hope came to the rescue”

Sarah*

A true Floridian, Sarah* grew up in Northern Brevard raised by her father. The activities she witnessed by day and the sounds that haunted the darkness at night, lying in bed as a child, left her all too familiar with the dark side of society. As she grew and eventually became a mother herself, she would have flashbacks to her childhood and promised herself that her kids wouldn’t live with the same fear and uncertainty that she had.

Building Blocks to Success

Moving Forward, One Step at a Time

Tiffanie is no stranger to the challenges of change. Having battled and maintained her sobriety after a history of substance abuse, she’d made the decision to turn her life toward a future where she could be the best mother she could to her children, J (12 years old) and N (4 years old). Since joining the Community of Hope family, she’d found stability that had been missing for most of her life and was determined to find a way to pay it forward to others who were facing similar battles.
