CAMP HOPE’S inaugural season began the first week of January, 2018. It was developed to provide enriching activities for children experiencing homelessness while also helping relieve the pressure their families experience maintaining employment and balancing child care needs while school aged children are not in school.
As CAMP HOPE has developed, we've opened registration to all families wishing to participate in this fun and exciting program, believing that all children benefit from the opportunity to interact with others their age while exploring the world around them- and beyond!
This past year, we focused on themes of growth, cultures around the world, and teamwork. There were many different trips, including ones to the Orlando Science Center, Fort Christmas, Forever Florida, Bevard Zoo, and (for our Winter Session) ICE! at Gaylord Palms for an indoor "Around the World" adventure.
We offer a Winter, Spring Break and Summer session, with the 2018-2019 dates to be announced later in the year! Keep and eye out for more information and the application!
Camp Hope works to broaden the children's world view.
While at Florida Institute of Technology's Botanical Garden, one child looked around in wonder:
"So this is a college. What is a college for??"
Help CAMP HOPE Continue
This Camp would not have been possible without the support of grants and generous community partners.
While we look forward to next season, it can't happen without funding. Community of Hope is actively seeking grants, corporate partnerships, and funding opportunities for next year. We want to be able to provide the best possible learning and experiential opportunities for the kids who participate, and for that, we need you!
Please consider donating, or getting your business involved, to keep this program going for many years to come.
